Hair Treatment

PRP for Hair Loss

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) provides a non-surgical way to reduce and reverse hair loss. PRP treatment uses the platelet-rich plasma in your blood to promote natural hair growth. This treatment has been shown in recent studies to be effective in reducing hair loss and increasing the diameter of hairs and the density of hair growth. The entire process takes about 1 hour, and several sessions are most likely needed to maintain hair growth results.

No precautions are required after treatment. Anyone with mild-to-moderate hair loss is likely to benefit from this highly effective treatment. As the PRP solution consists of a person’s own blood, there are few risks of a reaction to the solution itself.

Keratin Treatment

With the extent of environmental and product damage to hair, the secret to smooth, shiny hair is often only possible through keratin treatments. A keratin treatment is a chemical process that smooths and shines frizzy hair with results lasting up to a year.

The keratin treatment dives into the hair follicle and injects porous areas with keratin, an essential hair protein leaving the hair healthier, shinier and beautifully straight.

Hair Transplant

Studies show that only two hair transplantation techniques present the best survival rates for the transplanted hair follicles; these treatments are the follicular unit extraction (FUE) and the follicular unit transplant (FUT). We offer both procedures and you can learn more about them below.

Both techniques have high success rates, but which technique is most suitable for the patient depends on a range of individual factors.

FUT

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is a minimally invasive surgery to cover bald spots caused by hair loss. During the procedure, a surgeon cuts a strip of skin from your scalp, usually from the back of your head. These individual follicles get reinserted into the balding parts of your scalp. The surgery works best at covering a receding hairline caused by male pattern baldness. However, both men and women can benefit from this surgery.

Hair transplant surgeries take between 4 and 8 hours. FUT surgery is usually quicker than FUE surgery. Most people see full results from the surgery in 6 to 9 months.

Benefits when compared with FUE:

  • FUT may be a better option if you need a large number of hair follicles grafted
  • shorter operation time

potential side effects:

  • Unnatural looking hair
  • Bumps or scarring
  • Inflammation of hair follicles
  • Bleeding
  • Swelling
  • Scarring
  • Cysts

FUE

Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is done by taking hair follicles from your skin and moving them to the parts of your body where hair is thinner or absent. This process will make the hair in the new area look thicker. FUE has become more popular than FUT because it’s less likely to lead to a “hair plug” look, which is when sections of hair don’t match the surrounding areas. It also won’t leave a large scar like FUT does.

FUE is ideal for someone with thinning hair or balding who still has enough hair to use for a transplant. You may not be eligible for a FUE transplant if you don’t have enough healthy or thick hair to transplant to the thinning or balding area.

Some of the advantages of FUE include:

  • Quicker healing time
  • Less pain after surgery
  • Doesn’t cause scarring
  • Hair from other body parts can be substituted
  • Lower chances of potential side effects
